Biography

Melody Hunter-Pillion is an award-winning television broadcast producer, show host and writer, who started her electronic news and communications career while a student at North Carolina State University. After an internship with WTVD-ABC 11, Raleigh-Durham's Disney owned and operated television news station, Hunter-Pillion became the station's consumer news producer. She then went on to work as a newscast producer and reporter/fill-in anchor, contributing to Emmy-winning news broadcasts. Hunter-Pillion later joined Rex Healthcare, as Media Relations Manager, where she wrote and hosted the PRWeek National Award broadcast Rex On Call, a live, medical call-in television show. She also contributed magazine articles to Rex's quarterly publication as well as local magazines, including Wake Living and Women's Edge. Returning to academia to earn her Master's degree in Liberal Studies at Duke University, Hunter-Pillion entered the position of Associate Director of Communications for Duke's Office of Undergraduate Scholars and Fellows, creating video, web, and magazine content, highlighting the university's merit scholars and scholar alumni. She has led script writing and video production here at home and in Europe. Hunter-Pillion now comes full circle, returning to her undergraduate alma mater to teach journalism. Go Pack!
